Bringing Home the Bacon. Hear that Sizzle.
Objective: A client in the food industry needed to reach younger generations while keeping their appeal to the current market and customer base. They needed to interview professionals who could speak to today’s youth while still giving perspective on the future — with insights spanning Gen Z, Millennials, Gen X, and Baby Boomers. The goal? Make cooking at home fun again.
Methodology: To better understand the generations and their habits, Expert by Big Village vetted and recruited two specialized experts tailored ideally to the needs of this client. The first expert is a globally renowned executive producer, media aggregator, writer, TV and radio personality, and chef. This expert has advised two White House administrations, the United Nations, USDA’s Food and Nutrition Services, and more — and their “food hacks” on Facebook and YouTube have accrued over 9 million views in just over two years. The second expert is a marketing and branding development thought leader with specific knowledge in social media trends and influencing. This expert has nearly 20 years’ experience in planning, creatively developing, implementing, and managing several successful marketing programs and campaigns.
Findings: Expert by Big Village worked closely with our client to build out the screening criteria and interview process. The result? Our client went forward with great confidence in each generation’s wants and habits — and insight into current and future trends. With the knowledge gained from the interviews, our client was energized to move to the following research phase.
Big Village Testimonial: “The Expert team was fantastic in helping us locate the right people to speak with. They were very collaborative and agile as they pivoted quickly and seamlessly when the client’s project objective shifted.”
Diabetes and Weight Loss. Who Can Turn It Around?
Objective: After the FDA cleared a diabetes medication for secondary use as a weight loss drug, our client’s study focused on the drug’s promotion as such. The question: What types of long-term studies would healthcare professionals want to see before feeling comfortable prescribing the drug to their patients for weight loss?
Methodology: To augment this client’s research, Expert by Big Village sourced, vetted, and screened two customized experts: (1) a researcher and clinician in diabetes, endocrinology, and metabolism ; and (2) a specialist in endocrinology, diabetes, metabolism, obesity, internal medicine, and six disorders.
Findings: Our client appreciated our quick movement and the quality of these interviews — and they integrated our experts’ insight into their reporting with ease. Our experts reassured this client of their handle on the scope and breadth of the issue. With research data and clear answers, Big Village helped our client decide how to proceed next.
Big Village Testimonial: “Working with the Expert team was one of the easiest parts of managing the interviews – the quality recruits, professional communication, and top-tier reliability helped establish trust with the experts to maximize the interviews. Both internal and external clients were happy with the results.”
Closing the Gap. For Good.
Objective: An insurance client came to Big Village looking for DE&I (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) knowledge in these areas: (1) the state and trends of the marketplace as it relates to DE&I in the workplace; and (2) access to benefits and services for underserved populations, including where and how to provide them.
Methodology: Expert by Big Village vetted and interviewed four experts to gather in-depth insight to the above, each with specialized fields. Experts included a leader in sociology and women’s/gender studies, domestic violence victim advocacy, and sexual assault ; a legal expert in criminal proceeding, personal injury, civil litigation, and administration; a business law and ethics advisor with focuses on poverty law, alternative dispute resolution, and elder law ; and a leader in Human Resources and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
Findings: Our client found the expert interviews to be extremely rewarding and the content gathered to be highly impactful on how they moved into the next phase. Knowing what they do now, they feel much more confident that they are moving in the right direction.
Expert testimonial: “I’m excited that somebody is asking these questions more than just of what does it look like? That you’re really trying to do something with it. To me, it’s just a really exciting project.”
Big Village Testimonial: “Our research required very niche expertise. The Expert team was able to help unpack this intersectionality to understand the needs of the client and find the perfect candidates to help us gain more knowledge on a rather undocumented topic. The client and their stakeholders were thrilled with the results.”
