Expert is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation with a specialty in pediatrics. She received her MD from Dartmouth Medical School in 1984 and completed her internship in pediatrics and resident training in physical medicine and rehabilitation in New York in 1988. She has over twenty years of experience in adult and pediatric physical medicine and rehabilitation. Her experience include holding several academic and professional appointments including her current position as a Deputy Medical Director and Residency Program Director at her affiliated medical center in Brooklyn, NY, where she designs residency training programs in adult and pediatric rehabilitation.

Her current clinical responsibilities include diagnosing and treating patients in rehabilitation clinics and equipment clinics as well as providing consultation on a variety of physical medicine problems especially tone management, speech delay, scoliosis, orthosis, wound management and chronic pain. Her teaching responsibilities include supervising and teaching rehabilitation medicine residents during rotations on inpatient wards and clinics as well as providing didactic lectures to physiatrist residents on cerebral palsy, development, neonate examination, school age child examination, spinal cord injury, torticollis, traumatic brain injury, hypotonia diagnosis, juvenile rheumatoid disease, treating limb-deficient child, spasticity management, meningomyelocoele, neonatal reflexes and selective dorsal rhizotomy.

She has been pediatric physiatrist at her private practice firm as well as at Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center where she was responsible for designing therapy programs, orthotics and durable medical equipment for 136 children in the skilled nursing facility. She is also skilled in insurance appeals as she has worked in that industry since 1998 and also does malpractice cases in NY and Philadelphia.
