Expert is a Private Sector Consultant and lobbyist at a firm where he is a partner. He specializes in the areas of agriculture, trade, food safety and marketing, and bioterrorism. Expert has represented clients such as Oxfam America, Viatrace, California Dairy Institute. He has also represented the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, the largest water agency in the world.
Expert also served as Staff Director to the House Subcommittee on Livestock and Horticulture. The Subcommittee had broad jurisdiction over the production, marketing, regulation, and safety of livestock, dairy, poultry, fruits, vegetables, and wine. During his service on Capitol Hill, Expert was intimately involved in the legislative process surrounding numerous Farm Bills, being especially focused on food safety, animal welfare, bioterrorism and country of origin labeling. He is also a regular Lecturer at the Wharton School of Business at The University of Pennsylvania on the topic of effective communication with government by business leaders. He is a recognized expert in agriculture and frequently addresses, or serves on panels before, such organizations at The American Farm Bureau, The National Cattlemen's Beef Association, The National Pork Producers, The International Dairy Food Association, Viatrace, The Chicken Council, and the US Turkey Federation, and United Fresh.
He also specializes in the areas of energy, water, power, and resources issues. A recognized expert in energy policy, Expert has represented clients such as the Motor and Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA), Xcel Energy, Goldman Sachs, the government of the United Arab Emirates, Gazprom (the world's largest producer of natural gas), and the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, the largest water agency in the world, which controls the Hoover Dam. He is also a regular Lecturer at the Wharton School of Business at The University of Pennsylvania on the topic of effective communication with government by business leaders.
