Expert is a consultant Anaesthetist and Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in Oxford. He has 34 years experience in anaesthesia, including work in critical care and trauma training. He has worked as a specialist obstetric anaesthetist for the last 16 years in one of the largest units in the UK (7000 deliveries/year) and has
worked his entire career with an interest in vascular surgery. He has been a member of the WHO expert panel, and currently is working on developing international standards for anaesthesia machines. He is currently secretary of the anaesthetic section of the Royal Society of Medicine and teaches regularly on courses for
trauma training, anaesthesia for difficult locations, and educational courses in Eastern Europe. In addition to English, he speaks reasonably fluent French and basic level Spanish. He has provided medicolegal advice, and acted as advisor to medical equipment firms including Penlon (UK), Diamedica (UK) and PCI International
(USA). He is an author of more than 35 scientific publications including 2 book published by WHO (1 as sole author, 1 as clinical editor).
