Request Expert

Expert founded a consulting company specializing in supporting the manufacturing industry, which uses AOI, automated optical inspection or measurement systems in their production processes.
Her emphasis is on practical support for the manufacturing engineers given a tough task of selecting, introducing and maintaining these complex systems into their companies.

Expert has been designing, manufacturing and introducing vision based systems to electronics, medical device, pharmaceutical and printing industries for over 20 years. She is one of the founders of Vigitek Ltd., formerly Inspectron Ltd., Stratus Vision GmbH and an ISI Industrial and Scientific Imaging Ltd.

She is now focusing mainly on providing support for the AOI system users or those thinking of using automated vision inspection in their process, seeing how valuable close links between experts, manufacturers and the purchaser are in a successful AOI system installation and use.

She provides full range of services, from application evaluation, to help with system selection, design or upgrades, obsolete vision component replacement and custom vision lighting design.

Her services include validation of system performance and all aspects of support in introduction of AOI systems into production.

Introduction of Automated Inspection Systems into operation in a new advanced hybrid printing processes in a large electronics company in the US.
Management of client's engineers, interaction with and presentations to a large engineering group. Training of personnel, preparation of maintenance, test and calibration plans. Systems operating successfully on a 24 hour/7 day per weeks basis on assignment completion. Feasibility of detection of subtle defects in gold layers due to chemical and environmental contamination; detection of cracks and defects in underlying ceramic substrates. Feasibility resulted in a placement of a purchase order by the client company for a production system. Design of illumination units for the AOI, specifications for imaging software for the production system. The system has been installed on customer site (major manufacturing company in Germany) and production trials are being conducted currently. She is in charge of the trials and has a team of client engineers and supplier engineers to direct and coordinate.Consultancy relating to architecture, design and also implementation assistance in upgrading of a number of systems designed in 1990's to include new generation imaging hardware and software. She has also been providing training for client company engineers.Feasibility of introduction of automated inspection into an extruded building panel manufacturing facility (the largest operation of this type in Ireland and UK). She carried out payback analysis and prepared proposals for implementation. Results were presented to a large management group and resulted in placement of purchase orders for two different systems.
She has provided consulting in system specifications, developed architecture for both systems, supervised implementation, vision and software development. She has also trained and supported less experienced engineers. Both systems are successfully running in production in the main corporate plant, plans for rolling out the systems into the subsidiary operations in the UK are currently being made.Technical sales support, technical presentations to top client company management. Training of engineers and technology transfer.
