Expert Details
Battery Separators, High Temperature Polymers, and Plastic Films
ID: 729300
North Carolina, USA
Expert helped a company develop and define a new program in the area of energy storage and batteries. In that consulting role, he developed contacts with both academic and industrial partners to effectively put the company on a fast learning curve in a new technological area for them. Expert acted as a consultant for a company in the food packaging area that was interested in expanding into new areas. As a result of that consulting assignment, the company is presently defining a program in the area of battery separators. Expert traveled to a company in Asia to assess their battery separator technology for possible purchase by a client. After the trip was complete, he provided feedback and recommendations to top management as to additional information that needed to be gathered prior to the acquisition. Expert served as an Expert in the field of High Temperature Polymers for a client who was interested in developing new applications for their polymers. As the Expert for the project, he conducted phone interviews with potential customers and gathered background information which was presented to the client for their new product development efforts. Expert worked with a company in the flexible circuit business defining a new process to use microwave energy in the part production. That interaction lead to a reduction in the processing time of a factor of about 10 and, thus, reduced the company's production costs.
