Providing consulting on building science issues related to the performance of building enclosure systems and elements for design and installation, commissioning (Cx), property condition assessments, and damage analysis. Projects include new building construction, restoration of historic buildings, damage analysis, rehabilitation, remediation, and adaptive reuse, providing design consulting, and project management.
o Provides reviews of building design and construction document drawings and specifications, product submittals, materials installation methods and means, and quality assurance and control procedures,
o Inspect building facade and roofs for condition analysis, or defect and damage investigation.
Practice includes Architectural forensic expert witness and consulting services for law suits, providing opinions on building design and construction defects and disputes, and the cause, origin, and extent of building damage or defects from a variety of causes and events:
o Investigate property damage due to a wide variety of causes, including wind (hurricanes, tornadoes and straight line), hail, flood, soil movement, and fire,
o Personal injury cases related slip and trip and fall accidents, deferred maintenance, and building codes compliance,
o Surety and fidelity bond claims,
o Provides expert opinion reports, depositions, and arbitration hearing and trial testimony
o Estimates of costs to repair and/or replace.
Clients are other Architects, Attorneys, Real Estate Developers, Government Agencies, General Contractors, Property Owners, Facility Managers, Insurance Companies and property Claims Adjusters, and construction and mortgage lenders.
Provide architectural building enclosure design and construction document drawing and specification peer review and report concerns with recommendations. Also review submittals of building enclosure products of waterproofing, sealants, flashing, air barriers, thermal insulation, wall claddings, masonry, windows and glazing systems, and roof systems and provide comments and recommendations. Investigate failures of the building enclosure resulting in water penetration, air infiltration, glass breakage, wall cladding release, and roof leaks. We also develop repair methods and prepare bid documents, provide contract administration and quality assurance services during repair and restoration work. Investigate building damage from a variety of causes that include design and construction defects, ground movement, and storm and fire related events. We determine cause and origin and extent of damage, provide cost to repair or restore, prepare bid and contract documents for the work, and provide contract administration and quality assurance over site. Provide quality assurance construction document review, construction inspections and testing of the building enclosure during building construction and remodeling work for building owners and general contractors.Consult on insurance claims and law suits related to building damage and defects of a variety of origins.
