Request Expert

Expert has extensive experience in the field of clinical chemistry and clinical diagnostics. Development of analytical methods for trace analytes in biological fluids, especially in the field of clinical diagnostics, has been Expert's main job responsibility and success over the last 15 years. While his primary experience and major contributions lie in the area of developing immunoassay methods, many other biochemical techniques had to be mastered in completing his projects. Protein biochemistry, immunochemistry, electrophoresis, various kinds of purification and chromatographic techniques, organic synthesis, protein purification and conjugation, and determination of purity of biomolecules are all topics he is well-versed in.

Expert has synthesized several dye polymers, conjugated them to analytes like thyroxine, to develop a thyroxine immunoassay. He has so far developed homogeneous or heterogeneous immunoassays, using colorimetric, enzyme, or chemiluminescent labels, and many types of paramagnetic, or otherwise 'beads' for some twenty analytes in clinical diagnostics, including drugs that need therapeutic monitoring. He has many publications in the field and is frequently invited to give seminars in national and international conferences.

Expert has developed commercially sold methods for therapeutic drug monitoring of several cardioactive, antiasthmatic, antiepileptic and antibiotic drugs. He has written some 20 papers, presented more than 30 posters, and given seminars in many national and international conferences on therapeutic drug monitoring in human, drug toxicology and drug-drug interaction.

Expert was a consultant to a company's deoxypyridinoline assay development, when the team faced serious technical issues. He developed methods and assisted the team to investigate why the new assay sometimes gave incorrect clinical results, and showed how it could be fixed. He was asked to consult and assist to company's ACS:180® (Automated Chemiluminescence System) vancomycine assay product. He developed a new way to conjugate the chemiluminescent label to the analyte. The new process reduced process time by 60% and cost by 78%, and made the process more reliable.
