At Alcan, as Director he was responsible for $1 billion purchasing/supply chain as well as optimizing the $2 million annual ton global metal system. Expert pioneered their LME hedging program. He oversaw the joint ventures in Japan, South Africa, and Jamaica. Expert was Managing Director of a massive company in the U.K. He directed $590 million physical & LME trading. He played a key role in the acquisition of businesses in the former Soviet Union, Romania and the Middle East.
Expert has focused the last 15 years on offering research and consulting services to the steel & all non-ferrous (LME) metals, products, raw materials (e.g. iron ore, coal/coke, ferro-alloys, alumina, bauxite & others) and FCOJ, wheat, sugar & energy industries, particularly in strategy, supply chain, cost reduction as well as risk management/LME hedging. His clients include producers, traders, end users and funds worldwide.
He has provided expertise to software companies in developing ERP systems.
Expert has been active in commodity related equities and investments.
Expert is an accomplished educator. He has taught Marketing at University of Iowa (USA), Cross Cultural Management at McGill University (Canada) & in the U.K, Principles of Trading in Commodities for FOW, Physical Trading & Hedging for LME as well as several in-house training sessions for the clients.
He has written articles for LME Ringsider, Aluminium World, FOW, Steel Business Briefing, and Metal Bulletin. He is a regular speaker at international conferences and is often quoted in industry publications.
He is also a business mentor for Prince’s Trust, a charity of HRH Prince Charles.
A board level British executive with degrees in engineering and business administration coupled with wide experience in commodities/mining/manufacturing, physical/financial trading, consulting, teaching/mentoring as well as in contract negotiations and implementation with clients in over 30 countries.
