Computer Systems Hardware and Software Verification Testing and Audio Engineering

Request Expert

Expert C. Expert is experienced in testing the acoustical emission characteristics of PCs that AT&T had developed wherein tests were performed in an anechoic chamber to measure the noise being emitted from the PC. This was done to verify that there were no points in the audio spectrum that exceeded the company's requirements for maximum allowed sound pressure level. This testing was done while the system was running an assortment of disk activities as these were deemed the noisiest to the ear.

Having worked in almost every aspect of testing, servicing, support, and development of PC components or sub-systems as well as complete PCs and mini-computers, Expert is more than familiar with the requirements for verification testing, design verification testing, and providing both phone and on-site support for a range of computer components, systems, and sub-systems. He has spent a great deal of time working on the integration of these components and sub-systems into a working, usable, PC system.

As Expert has worked in the development of PCs for AT&T and has been involved in the integration of PC sub-systems (power supplies, hard-disk drives, floppy-disk drives, monitors, keyboards, etc. and their cabinets or system boxes), he is very familiar with the interconnecting buses, cabling, and architecture used in building and designing PCs.

Expert worked in the development of a PC-specific diagnostic application that was designed to give the end-user the capability of testing the functioning of each of the sub-assemblies. Each of the test routines had been designed to check for multiple error conditions and when a failure was found, would give the user an indication of the specific failure.
