Expert has devoted much of his filtration and separation knowledge to cleaning liquid of all types. He has technical papers published and has led numerous seminars on coolant filtration. His hands-on knowledge of device types and experience with filtration equipment manufacturers make him one of the leaders in coolant management training. In his book and video tape series, he discusses the relationship between water-based coolants and oil as well as air, heat, and bacterial contaminants; strategies for closed-loop filtration systems; disposing of coolant versus clarifying coolant; selecting cleaning devices and pumping schemes; and a comparison of full-flow and by-pass systems. He has worked on coolant clarification for a variety of applications including machining, grinding, rolling, wire drawing, and continuous casting operations. He has also served other liquid solid applications for minerals, chemicals, and wastewater.

Experienced in the management of. The system incorporated a number of return trenches throughout the facility that aided in efficient fluid movement, damage control, and ease of service.

Expert has 23 years of experience in industrial liquid filtration. He provides a variety of support to clients who use process filtration equipment as well as suppliers of equipment and materials who serve liquid filtration applications. He has implemented systems to clean coolants, cutting oils, and other process fluids. He has completed existing system studies to update hardware, increase capacity, and troubleshoot problem areas.

Expert has developed programs to design and evaluate various types of liquid-solid and liquid-liquid systems. He has designed complete systems to include proper components necessary to ensure total system efficiency.

Not only knowledgeable of filtration, Expert is experienced with such devices as settling chambers, centrifuges, hydrocyclones, decanters, and other separators that clean suspended materials from liquids. In his writings, he has provided generic descriptions of retention, flotation and magnetic separators, tramp oil skimmers, and make up units and presents the variety of tanks and the value of balanced flow.

Expert has provided guidance in selecting equipment and system installations for a variety of process engineering applications. He has worked extensively with metal grinding, machining, rolling, and wire drawing operations with hands-on knowledge of each unique type of metal used, kind of coolant required, and level of performance necessary. He has designed and installed return piping, trenches (with flushing) reservoirs, pumps, and supply lines.

Expert has a thorough understanding of filtration system theory. His publications have defined closed loop flow, full flow, and bypass flow and have discussed equilibrium and clarity limitations. Additionally, he has worked with many versions of filters where the pressure differentials are generated hydraulically or pneumatically.

Expert has conducted tests and set up apparatus to perform pilot testing for measuring efficiency and system performance of filtration and separation equipment.

Expert has developed and refined existing techniques to precoat filter aids into filter chambers to enhance filter separating capabilities.

Expert has analyzed the performance and use of various hydraulic oil conditioners and filters. These range from barrier filtration to vacuum high temperature units to high vacuum distillation.
