Expert has taught high school mathematics such as Alg I, Alg II, Pre-Calculus, Trigonometry, Analysis, and Calculus. He has also taught undergraduate and MS level statistics for students at The University of Houston-Clear Lake, School of Education. There he served on numerous committees, MS Theses, and published with several of his students as well as some faculty. Also, while at UHCL, he served as PT3 grant evaluator. He also served served as external evaluator for several Even Start Programs in the area (.e.g, Deer Park ISD).

During his time at The University of Texas-Pan American, he was promoted to Associate Professor and taught undergraduate, and PhD business statistics/quantitative methods courses. He also served on numerous committees at the department (CIS/QUMT), college (COBA), and university (UTPA) level. He had numerous publications with fellow professors as well as students. He also served as mentor to new CIS/QUMT faculty.

As Director of Academic Assessment, he assisted several colleges (e.g., COBA) prepare for their accrediation visits (AACSB). As part of his duties, he met with deans, associate deans, proagram chairs, program coordinators, assessment coordinators for the different colleges within the university to coordinate the assessment efforts throughout the univeristy. Also, he attended conferences such as SACS, and training seminars (e.g., AACSB, assessment conferences), and participated in THECB meetings.

Expert's publications include areas such as business, education, pharmacy, dietetics, nursing, and assessment. He has published in journals such as: International Journal of Security, International Journal of Business and Systems Research, Decision Science Journal of Innovative Education, American Journalof Health Promotion, International Journal of Services and Standards, Biological Trace Element Research, Computers in the Schools, International Journal of Mobile Learning and Organisation.
