Expert is familiar with most standard modulation waveforms and techniques including quadrature phase shift keying (QPSK) modulation. He was the primary architect for several QPSK modems, and contributed to the design of many others. He is aware of the subtleties of this modulation including suppressed carrier recovery, squaring loss, timing recovery, and matched filtering. He is able to predict performance of the modulation at the "black box" as well as system level, and to devise performance budgets.
