EPA & CARB Mobile Emissions Regulations for Fleet Compliance, BACT Certification and Verification

ID: 729409 California, USA

Request Expert

Expert's firm provides emissions consulting and testing services related to EPA, California Air Resources Board, and State Agency emissions regulations. Expert has helped fleet owners, emerging technologies, and Fortune 500 companies with a wide range of emissions issues related to diesel and alternative fuel engines in on-highway trucks and off-road equipment.

Expert is highly trained in EPA and CARB emissions compliance rules and regulations as well as emissions reduction devices/solutions. He can perform turnkey fleet analysis and implementation strategies for emissions compliance requirements now and in the future. His experience in diesel engines, after-treatment devices, alternative fuels, and emissions compliance laws spans decades. He has worked with the world's largest companies (General Electric, Caterpillar distribution network, and the equipment rental industry) creating ways to be more environmentally friendly while not compromising equipment performance.

He has spent many years researching different emissions reduction strategies, including the practical use of bio-fuels and after-treatment emission control technology as well as the possible short and long-term effects on engine performance and life expectancy. Although "going green" has the best of intentions, the high price of some emission control solutions combined with the amount of maintenance/downtime can potentially cost the asset owner hundreds of thousands of dollars. Expert's firm combines its experience in emissions reduction technology with advanced degrees in Business to develop solutions that will help the environment while keeping your business in business.

Expert has recently completed a stationary engine market analysis including a detailed look at RICE NESHAP and the potential strategies for compliance.

He created strategic compliance and implementation plans for over 500 mobile assets of a Fortune 500 Aerospace company. Created customized emissions calculators and assessment tools capable of quantifying the value of assets in their fleet using emissions regulation requirements and other tangible quantifiers. He was successful in securing an EPA exemption for large manufacturers allowing the use of previous tier level engines and offsetting the cost of retooling and R & D in the design of their new products. Secured air permits for large entertainment companies utilizing portable power generation equipment across the United States and Canada. He created market research for an upstart after-treatment device manufacturer looking to enter the U.S. market. He also created a marketing and distribution plan to be implemented over three years with financial analysis for securing a bank loan. He created a risk assessment and implementation strategy for the successful conversion of a diesel generator fleet to 99% bio-diesel. Included were asset evaluation for a future purchase, life cycle reduction, revised depreciation schedule, and the development of an emergency response network for implementing "life" gridless power with high profile events.
