Expert was Staff Engineer at Austin Info Systems (AIS), Dallas Operations until retiring in June 2006. He currently has more than 50 years of experience as an antenna and antenna systems engineer. In 1994, he left E Systems and formed an LLC, to develop advanced airborne EW antennas, multi-band satellite communications antennas and monopulse tracking feeds. He designed numerous broadband polarization diverse antennas for airborne ELINT applications and the microwave interferometer arrays used in many current Air Force airborne surveillance systems (Rivet Joint, Senior Ruby, and Global Hawk). In 1998, Expert's LLC was acquired by a company, headquartered in Austin, Texas. Expert also designed numerous multi-band communications and tracking antenna systems including the following:

· L/S Band monopuse/pseudo-monopulse tracking feed
· X-Band monopulse/pseudo-monopulse tracking feed
· C/X/Ku Band ground station communication feed
· C/Ku Band ground station communication feed with Ku-Band tracking capability
· High efficiency 9.3-meter reflector optics for above
· S/X Band monopulse/pseudo-monopulse tracking feed
· L/S Band communication feed
· S/X Band communication feed
· S/X Band monopulse/pseudo-monopulse tracking feed with high power S-Band transmit capability
· X/Ka Band ground station communication feed with Ka-Band tracking capability

Earlier in his career, he developed S and C-Band beacon antennas for the Project Mercury space capsule (1958), a UHF/L-Band feed for high power (60 mega-Watt pk/60 kiloWatt av) radar system at White Sands Missile Range (1963), and an L/S band SCM telemetry tracking feed for the Pacific Missile Range (1968). This was the first design to use coaxial cavities to produce monopulse tracking patterns.

In 2008, as a consultant, Expert designed a tri-band (L, S, and X-Band) feed using HFSS and OSU(NECREF) code. This feed was fabricated in accordance with his drawings. The feed was assembled, installed, and tested in an 8 ft. reflector in three days without requiring any physical modifications or adjustments to the HFSS/NECREF derived design. G/T requirements were exceeded in all three bands.

In 2010, as a consultant, he designed an SCM tri-band (L, S, and C-Band) telemetry tracking feed using HFSS and OSU(NECREF) code. The final development of this feed was completed and is now included in the company's tracking systems brochure. The feed was a featured design at the 2010 International Telemetry Conference. Since 2010, Expert has designed numerous feeds including an L/S and C-Band non-tracking feed, a high-performance C-Band feed, and a Ka-Band polarization diverse feed (selectable dual linear or dual circular). He recently designed a low-cost L/S and C-Band con-scan tracking feed (plug and play compatible with existing con-scan feeds) and a tri-band SCM Cassegrain tracking antenna.

Expert has recently designed, as a private consultant, several antennae feeds for TCS, Chatsworth, California, and a tri-band telemetry tracking feed for Orbit Communication Systems.
