Expert was one of the first individuals to perform recombinant DNA technology and has 37 years of experience in this area. He has been a Professor at Employer for the past 30 years and is a member of the National Academy of Sciences. He is internationally known for his work on gene regulation and more recently basic research in cancer, and has approximately 270 publications in peer-reviewed journals. He has extensive experience with a virtually all aspects of molecular biology as applied to biotechnology including gene regulation in prokaryotic and eukaryotic organisms, DNA sequencing, protein expression, microarray technology, genetics, and biochemistry. He is currently a member of the scientific advisory board (SAB) of Sangamo Inc., and has been an SAB member for 4 other companies in the past. He holds one patent, with another patent pending. He also has considerable experience as an expert witness in patent cases in the US and Europe, including testifying at approximately 5 trials and being deposed in 10 cases.
