Expert currently serves as the Director for Strategic Health Information, coordinating all research-related activities in infectious diseases (TB, HIV, malaria, Hepatitis), chronic diseases like diabetes, cancer. He also collaborates with foreign partners in the design of the clinical trial protocol, coordination of laboratory and pharmaceutical supply chain, and also the network of primary and secondary physician providers for electronic health recording, reporting, analysis, and use of data for decision making and publication to a national and international audience.

Expert was previously the project manager for five-year multi-country projects (Nigeria, Katchasitan, and the Philippines) funded by a Ministry of Foreign affairs towards strengthening quality- and patient-centered TB and TB/HIV services in the non-public sector in Nigeria. In this position, Expert has led the assessment of the quality of services of more than 30 private hospitals in Lagos, Nigeria, using the International Standards for Tuberculosis Care (ISTC) and the Amsterdam-based Pharmaccess Foundation Basic Safe care Standards.

Expert currently serves as co-investigator of the (Undisclosed) Inventory Study to assess the under-reporting of detected TB cases in Nigeria. In addition, he is a peer reviewer for the Bulletin of the World Health Organization and an Internationally certified health facility assessor (Safe care Quality improvement methodology) through the Amsterdam-based Pharmaccess Foundation. Previously, he was the State Technical Advisor/Clinical Care Specialist at Management Sciences for Health (MSH) Kebbi State.

He possesses over seven years of working experience with government health facilities, one year of experience using Site Improvement through monitoring systems piloted in MSH-supported hospitals in July 2015, non-governmental organizations, and USAID/PEPFAR funded projects. As a member of senior management, he is experienced in project management, program planning, implementation, and monitoring in the areas of maternal and child health services, sexual and reproductive health services, Family planning/HIV integration, TB/HIV, PMTCT, PHDP, HIV testing and counseling, gender mainstreaming, nutrition, quality improvement, Basic ART services for Adults and Children, OVC and retention in care. In addition, he had worked with the Kebbi state government and directors of health, LGA Affairs, Women affairs, Primary Healthcare Development Agency, and others to transition comprehensive HIV, including sustainable HTC, maternal, newborn, child health, and nutrition services for local state ownership.

Expert has co-supervised eight MSH staff, supervises 18 project volunteers and one intern, and builds more than 180 health workers through training, mentorship, QI meetings, CMEs, and SIMS supervisory and capacity building visits to deliver effective service PLHIV and malnourished children and adults in Kebbi state.

Expert's achievements include inputs on work plan development for FY 16, evaluation of innovative MSH SPEEiD model for improved early infant diagnosis, transition of 12 PMTCT sites and services and 4 QI meetings from USAID to Kebbi state government, improved TB case detection through innovative cough officer intervention and demand creation for gen expert, Isoniazid Preventive Therapy(IPT) outcome evaluation for 2000 PLHIVs and PMTCT data extraction for abstract development, development of innovative costed strategic health operational plans (2015-2016) for two hospitals, coordination of State Implementation of National Strategic Roadmap for Maternal, New-born and Child Health (including BeMONC) in conjunction with Kebbi State Ministry of Health as part of the 7th Country Program of UNFPA.

Expert is a prolific proposal writer, editor, and training facilitator with strong interpersonal and team-building skills. His accepted abstracts on the Quality of HIV care were presented at IAS 2016.

Expert currently works with the Amsterdam-based Pharmaccess Foundation to develop a mobile app that will ease Tuberculosis notification among private healthcare providers in Nigeria.

1. Transitioned 12 Prevention of Child to Mother Transmission (PMTCT) hospitals from USAID to Kebbi State Government for continued funding-October 2015
