She was responsible for producing HR policies, an Employee Handbook and setting up procedures to ensure best practices and standards were established throughout the newly formed company. During her tenure at Milagro, she facilitated the recruiting, hiring and on-boarding of 100+ employees, aligning herself as a trusted business partner with hiring managers across the company. Expert also reduced turn over 65% in the acquired field offices by establishing competitive compensation and retention plans and further improved retention by developing a career path program. She gained significant experience designing and running an Employee Wellness program that led Milagro to receive national recognition as a “Fit Friendly Company” by the American Heart Association for 5 consecutive years. Approaching the company’s closing she effectively developed a strategy to help the company through Chapter 11 reorganization. This involved working closely with the executive team to create the communication plan that avoided issues with WARN Act and OWBPA. She formulated a severance program which gained creditor/court approval and successfully negotiated the continuation of benefits and services vital to employee retention during wind-down process. Maintaining a focus on employee welfare, Expert organized a variety of education meetings to assist people with Outplacement and Career Transition services.
