He has conducted pre-clinical protective efficacy and immunogenicity studies in mice, guinea pigs, hamsters, cotton rats, rabbits and rhesus macaques. He has worked to develop vaccines against viral targets, including, but not limited to, HIV-1, influenza, respiratory syncytial virus, norovirus, hepatitis c virus, and bacterial targets, including, but not limited to, Chlamydia trachomatis, and Helicobacter pylori.

He has expertise in various mucosal and systemic routes of vaccination and measuring local, mucosal and systemic innate and adaptive immune responses.
