Expert has over 35 years experience in the information technology industry. He is able to use his deep technical knowledge and understanding in a business context. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors and former regional Chairman of the Computing Services Association.

As a software designer, he has designed mass market PC applications including the first successful email client (ChitChat), the world's first Japanese/Chinese windowed operating system, real time operating systems and communications and display applications. His commercial application experience includes retail, distribution, accounting, manufacturing, finance, insurance, banking, property and asset management. On the web his experience encompasses website design, database integration, IPTV and digital media, VOIP, design of web development frameworks.

Expert has consulted in multinational and corporate boardrooms within the financial services, manufacturing and retail sectors. His advice helped investment clients to gain and retain top 10 positions in fund ranking tables and across sectors effect multi-million pound annual savings through effective implementation of information technology. He has managed multi-million pound system implementation projects.

As a businessman, Expert has started, grown and successfully exited several high technology companies. He acts as a non-executive director in the IT/software sector, successfully delivering business transformation and turnaround. Expert also acts as a business mentor on behalf of the Prince's Trust.

Expert was a key adviser to a large multi-national insurance group on the merger of several of its investment subsidiaries to form a single, large fund manager. Through effective implementation of information technology, productivity gains of more than 40% were achieved alongside strategic competitive advantage that saw the company rise to the top of the investment rankings - its key business objective. Expert acted as adviser to Japan's largest software company, helping the board to identify key technology trends and implement improved working practices in software development and creativity in product design. Expert designed an IT system that controlled the distribution of fashion clothing in multiple retail chains. Using heuristic techniques to place stock where it is most likely to achieve greatest turnover/value the system added 20% or greater profit improvements to the companies that adopted it. The system was adopted by most high street clothing retailers and is still in use some 30 years after it was first implemented.As consultant to the board of a young software company, Expert implemented effective financial and management controls, improved governance and risk management and helped safeguard shareholder value. He was instrumental in identifying new product opportunities and in driving their development to successful profit generation. His advice turned the company from loss to profit in less than 12 months and set it on the road to high growth and high capital value.As advisor to a venture capital provider, Expert has conducted technical due diligence on the viability of proposed new products aross software/hardware and media. His advice prevented investment in businesses that (backed by others) subsequently failed and, more valuably, he was able to suggest changes to product designs and market timing and positioning that helped others succeed.
