this effort he initiated and lead in the developed of a program in cooperation with Hewlett Packard to
develop the first carbon black ink jet ink for desk top printers. The first ink was introduced in 1993 and
subsequently virtually all ink jet document printers use carbon black ink jet ink for text. Following this
effort he turned to new business development of pigmented inks used in industrial, textile and wide format
applications. Today he focuses on ink jet media design and manufacturing in China. In addition has
access to novel pressure sensitive adhesive technology and its application to papers and films focused on
ink jet digital printing media. His current customers include major global distributors of ink jet media world
Inkjet inks can print on anything since the drops fly through the air to the substrate being printed. The
trouble starts when they hit the substrate. Inkjet ink types include water based, strong solvent based,
phase change, UV curable, mild solvent based and oil based. To perform on the substrate properly the
substrate usually is prepared to receive the ink and give the post printing performance expected. Many ink
jet media are coated with coatings needed to absorb the ink or provide a surface for bonding the ink. This
class of materials is referred to as Coated or Treated Inkjet Media. The substrate may be paper, plastic,
fabric or other type of substrate being printed. New technologies are being introduced including resin
containing water based inks as well as water based and solvent based UV curable inks.

He helped a new startup get funding through a small business loan guarantee. The company developed a novel technology of dying synthetic fibers, films and fabrics. He is a continuing adviser to the firm as it grows to change the way synthetic textile printing and dyeing is done.He was contracted to advise a digital supplies distribution company. He developed lower cost sources of consumable products in China and has position the distribution with the lowest cost highest quality products available.He brokered products to a new company formed to sell Chinese made product to large original equipment manufacturers and large private label distributors. Most major OEMs in digital printing purchase product for that company. He was requested to source for a client a state of the art pressure sensitive adhesive system for ink jet media. He formed an LLC with a technology company and a manufacturing company in China to develop and manufacture products.
