Expert is a Welsh Chartered accountant who has been in practice since 1989; originally in Great Britain and now in Switzerland. He has strong experience in forensic accounting and dispute resolution in many, diverse contexts.

His principal practice area is international arbitration; including investment treaty and commercial disputes. He manages one of the few specialist forensic accounting practices in Switzerland, which is itself of course a well-known seat for the settlement of international disputes. Expert has acted as quantum/damages expert witness in many arbitration disputes over the years including under ICSID, UNCITRAL and ICC rules. Unusually, he has also acted as tribunal-appointed expert in ICSID proceedings. He has testified in front of arbitral tribunals and also the Iran-US Claims Tribunal.

He runs the Switzerland office of LBC Investigative Accounting; a nine-office niche firm based in Montreal, Canada.

Example clients include; various law firms in Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Netherlands, United States, France, Great Britain, Belgium; United States Department of State; Palestinian Authority; United Nations Compensation Commission; Worldwide Fund for Nature; Government of Democratic Republic of Congo; Government of Kuwait; various commercial client companies; high net worth individuals.

He lectures on financial damages at the renowned Masters in International Dispute Settlement programme at the Universite of Geneve, Faculte de Droit.

Between 2000 and 2003, he worked at the UNCC as the only forensic accountant on the staff of approximately 250 assessing financial claims arising from Iraq's August 1990 invasion and occupation of Kuwait. He advised several panels of commissioners including the oil and gas panel.

Expert advises commercial clients (both corporate and individual) on issues of banking, corporate governance and other matters.

He speaks Welsh, English and French.
