As a senior analyst and international project leader, Expert facilitated the creation of disaster preparedness plans as well as companywide support for the implementation of the plan. By defining the potential risks in a given area, his assessments determine what level of mitigation is required in a given area, for a given threat. This methodology was used to integrate U.S. standards, across offices in a recently acquired business unit operating in 40 countries.

Supporting a 50 billion dollar supply chain, he created a risk management program ensuring the client's top certification with US Customs CT-PAT (Customs Trade-Partnership Against Terrorism). His assessments also led a reevaluation of sourcing considerations as well as a diversification of international investment.

By creating his own methodology based on corporate and military experience, coupled with the evolving international business climate, he has created a new way of looking at risk that is applicable wherever a company has or is considering a presence, and potential outside entities that may cause them harm. Other methodologies omit the actual presence. These will implement the same level of risk mitigation whether an organization has 1 person or 100 in a given area, or whether they have a 20 million dollar, versus a 20 billion dollar investment.

Threats vary by the asset present in a given area and can include government reliability, infrastructure, corporate espionage, natural disaster, local crime elements, terrorist presence and others.

He continues to build on his personal expertise serving private clients as an unbiased and reliable source of international risk information. His assessments address emerging situations and possible impact either to an organization’s interests operating currently, or considering a future presence. He has developed a definition and methodology for addressing risk based on a simple formula involving a company's presence, coupled with the threats having potential to affect their particular assets. This approach helps senior executives look at their operations from a clear perspective that is straightforward and easy to understand, yet lacks a bias that sometimes occurs in assessments completed internally.
