She intimately involved in intraoperative MRI in neurosurgery and MR guided focused ultrasound ablation of brain tumors and targeted drug delivery. She spearheads The Cancer Genomic Atlas Imaging- Genomic project at Harvard Medical School which discovers and correlates genes and microRNA in brain tumors with MR imaging (termed radiogenomics) to create non-invasive MR imaging-genomic biomarkers.

Expert is a recipient of numerous prestigious grants which include the Siemens Outstanding Research Award/Grant, ASNR research grant, and RSNA research fellow grant. Expert is the first medical student from Puerto Rico to be accepted at the radiology residency program at the Massachusetts General Hospital. Her educational acumen has earned her induction into the Alpha Omega Apha Medical Honor Society.
Expert is an active member of the Radiology Society of North America, Society of Neurooncology, American Society of Neuroradiology, American College of Radiology among numerous other professional membership societies.

Expert has written numerous articles and book chapters on intraoperative MRI, MR guided interventions, and radiogenomics. She is a writer and contributor to multiple newsletters and media outlets discussing healthcare issues for patient care.
