Expert has developed automated inspection systems for various industries, that is, those systems needed for intermediate process control, as well as for final inspections. He is experienced with vision resolutions up to 4K by 4k with speeds up to 60 fps. He has some experience in using high speed line scan cameras for the specific application, such as laser beam streak tracing, etc. Other inspection applications include looking for the specific features on the products or objects (product ID). He has successfully developed several automated applications for lenses, microoptics, semiconductor products, etc. Expert has also successfully installed unique automated systems to test and qualify optical products, for example IOL (Intra Ocular Lenses). One of the most successful automated contact lens mold inspection systems is currently being qualified at an international location. This system deploys automated confocal microscope principal and measure plastic components with repeatability of 1 micron, and accuracy of +/-2 microns. In the past he has led a team who developed few fully automated optical mirrored MEMS (micro electro-mechanical systems), where angles of 0.001 degree and displacements of 2 microns were measured. Other optical inspection systems included laser interferometer semiconductor wafer flatness measurement where 1 to 7 microns curvature over 300mm has been measured reliably; and, a spectacle lens ID and orientation system which process products on the fly at a rate of 3 seconds per part, where subliminal fiducials and other specific feature used to orient, ID, and mark the lens.

Expert has been on the cutting edge of the several medical devices technology. In the early 90's, he developed the vascular products design and manufacturing processes, which lend themselves to the applications of excimer laser and other technologies. He has filed several patents and received several issued patents. Since then, he has been involved in the development of the unique lab on the chip applications, such as disposable blood analyzer cartridges. Specifics of the project included deployment of the CO2 Lasers, "flying" CCD cameras and precision die attach applications. Other medical device development includes some ophthalmic analyzers, and development of new methods of laser beam shaping also used in medical industry. Some of the mentioned devices are used to assist in laser eye surgery, and some of them are strong diagnostics tools.

For a while he was leading the East Coast division of the company producing optical metrology tools. Expert has developed unique fully automated lens power measuring devices, which follow the letter of the ISO and is being widely used in ophthalmic device production. Those systems have multiple installations at the domestic and international corporations. The focus of each system is to provide robust and reliable process control with minimized chances for human error. Other systems service metrology needs of contact lens molds, the lenses themselves and other needs. Another project worth mentioning here involved a high-resolution inspection system that assisted in the alignment of LCD panels in the new rear projection TV engine. This required the system to measure pixel sizes in appropriate chromatic environment and define the displacement with appropriate correction. Follow up required verified RGB conversion of the projected light and estimated image quality. Presently, he is leading advanced technology company providing automation and optical products to the pharmaceutical and optical industries, where each product is a combination of machine vision, light processing and robotics technologies.

Expert has extensive experience in precise machining of the polymers to very tight criteria. He has performed excimer laser based machining of polyamides, teflon, and polyurethanes. He has performed laser ablation of polymers and laser-induced polymerization with various projects. One such project is machining of a catheter tip to the precise shape for the ease of insertion. The process is being performed today at the rate of 2 seconds per cycle, which is faster the alternative reverse molding process. It is also a more repeatable process and causes less wear and tear on items.

He has developed various polymer-processing technologies. One of the most challenging processes involved processing of 1 mil polyamide with 1.5 mils Avery 333 adhesives on both sides to the 2 mil specification. The material was cut through and partial (depth wise) to meet very challenging spec. This system has been in service for six years in Canada. Another interesting application Expert was involved in was the integration of cutting and welding of the eatable films in one process. This process and equipment was developed for a pharmaceutical company in New Jersey.

During His work at Johnson and Johnson, he has developed unique conversion of the unstable resonator to the stable one as well as all of the beam homogenizing and shaping optics for the large scale excimer laser. As the end result life time of the consumable and power output were increased dramatically while more gaussian beam profile achieved as well.

Expert developed the laser ablation processes for the several polymeric materials as part of his PhD thesis and direct applications. Processing of the polyurethanes glass like materials and various ceramics have been developed. At the later date different processes for the ceramic drilling and polycarbonate marking have been added to the portfolio. Process where heat affected zones were virtually eliminated and discolorations minimized have been developed and executed. Material surface cleaning using UV lasers were explored as well as certain experiments with live tissues were carried out.

Presently, developing equipment used to test IOL in full accordance with ISO 11979-02 as well as contact lens testing equipment. Expert consulted several laser eye surgery system manufacturer on the various aspects of the beam control and wavefront measurements. He holds the patent on disposable laser beam shaping device and others related inventions.

New unique methods allowing to control one surface of the semi-finished spectacle lenses were developed as well. He has worked closely with several medical group on improvement of the existing and developing new ophthalmic equipment.

Expert has developed and executed few project where unique optics has been used to improve performance of the existing CCD cameras. Coaxial and totally reflective optics have been developed. Presently optical test equipment is main area of his activity.

Expert provided consultation on new process development for DEKA Research. He provided consultation on new process development, equipment installation and research for Johnson and Johnson. Expert provided consultation in the areas of research, new equipment specification development, and vendor review. He provided consultation specific to new system specification development for W.L. Gore. Laser material processing to LubrizolOptic Inspection and disaster recovery. Process automation and quality improvement to Aspire Pharmaceutical Inc. Process automation and precision inspection to Egide Group, France.
