Magnetic Materials Measurement, Characterisation, Investigation including Suspensions / Dispersions

ID: 730000 United Kingdom

Request Expert

Expert has been involved in the measurement & characterisation of magnetic materials for over ten years. This includes measurements for the transport industry of the magnetic strips used on bus and rail tickets and of magnetic powders used as pigments in the printing industry. He has experience of the production of magnetic dispersions by bead milling methods and is published in the field of the sedimentation and stability of these fluids. He has also worked on an industry sponsored data storage project concerned with advanced double-layered tape media. This published work involved measuring and analysing the media noise using a reel-to-reel tape rig with the results interpreted in terms of the magnetic structures and interactions in these assemblies of magnetic nanoparticles. Recent work has included collaboration with an in-house chemistry expert in the fabrication and characterisation of superparamagnetic nanoparticles with potential applications in the fields of medicine (drug delivery, targeted cancer therapy), bio-catalysis & the separation of pollutants from waste streams.
