He joined Teledyne Continental Motors as Senior R&D Engineer developing higher power density in AVDS1790 deisel tank engine and hydropneumatic suspension systems. He joined GE Aviation as a Lead Materials Engineer characterizing the properties of nickel based superalloys and composite materials for jet engines. He transferred to GE Power in 1993 as Senior Materials engineer developing material curves for heavy duty gas turbines for power generation. Expert was promoted to Manager of the Materials Characterization and NDE Group, and promoted to Materials Chief Engineer for GE Power in 1998 and held that role to retirement in 2019.
