Responsibilities:
Expert was responsible for physical design, analysis, and environmental testing of a satellite-based payload with responsibility for budget and schedule. He provided technical sustaining engineering to follow-on to United Defense's Electronic Fighting Vehicle System (EFVS) Mast program. He designed and analyzed a complex, high density, high-powered VME card file chassis with superior cooling capacity.
He provided management and hands-on technical leadership for the Magic Mast™ business area. He was responsible for development of the EFVS and other mast programs. He provided sustaining engineering for the PATRIOT, TRAILBLAZER, and MEWSS production mast systems for mobile DOD programs resulting in budget underruns. He supervised mechanical engineers. He directed efforts of five engineers and ten design drafters in design and packaging of the original AN/WLR-4(V) Electronic Surveillance Measures (ESM) system in U.S. Navy submarines. He reduced space of digital racks from two to one. Expert also directed construction of two massive reinforced concrete antenna foundations in a remote overseas site, within budget and schedule under severe weather, labor and equipment conditions.
