Expert is an expert in the use of electrophoresis, PCR, and other DNA analyses. He has also been cloning and analyzing nuclear genes that are part of the cytochrome oxidase complex -- he has examined their structure, function, and molecular evolution. Expert has expertise in gene regulation, DNA sequencing, cloning, and amplification, as well as computer applications in biology.

Medical aspects of his work include ischemic reperfusion injury and diseases caused by deficiencies in oxidative energy metabolism. He has expertise in DNA sequencing, PCR, cloning, gene regulations, genetic engineering, molecular biology, molecular evolution, and genetics.

Many processes such as cloning, DNA amplification, genetic probing, and similar techniques are used to study the genes that encode the mitochondrial respiratory system. Expert's work has in particular led to a better picture of the structure and regulation of cytochrome oxidase genes.

Expert is a regular user of electrophoresis and has done a significant amount of work in the field.
