Expert. Expert has a doctorate in veterinary medicine but moved on to work in a university-based genetics department (since 1990), where she modified and applied human DNA typing systems (DNA fingerprinting, Single-locus profiling, mitochondrial DNA typing) to study genetic variability / inbreeding, to identify genetic relationships between individuals, and to determine the species origin of biological samples in domestic and wild animal species.
Since 2001, her work focuses on the detection of ultra-rare single-nucleotide mutations that occur spontaneously in human sperm DNA.
