Request Expert

Expert has taught courses in digital signal processing, neural networks, and pattern recognition for over 25 years. He has published over 100 papers in these areas and has trained over 15 PhD and 35 MS students who have performed research in these areas. His research has been supported by the National Science Foundation, NASA, and the Advanced Technology Program of the state of Texas, Mobil Research, E-Systems, and ABB Network Management. In his consulting work, he has produced application software or neural network software for Weatherford International, Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control, Abbott Labs, and Williams Pyro. Prof. Expert's neural networks have been included in a Lockheed weapon system, and have been used to estimate formation porosity in the pulsed neutron porosity (PNP) well logging tool.

Expert developed some growing/pruning software for training neural nets, for Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control Expert developed neural network software for various applications for Weatherford International Expert developed algorithms and software to classify aspirations of liquid samples (as air, foam, or good) in a commercial biomedical processing system for Abbott Labs. Expert developed signal processing algorithms and software for Telluric Geophysical Services Expert developed neural network software for the pulsed neutron porosity (PNP) well logging tool for Mobil Research.
