With a degree in engineering, he has been Director of Technology for major nonwovens producers; from a business standpoint, he successfully developed a business plan, attracted significant investment capital, designed and built a state of the art airlaid nonwovens line and business, and ran that business as VP of Operations until its sale to a larger nonwovens company. He developed unique technology and products for the nonwoven wipes market, feminine hygiene market, food pad market, as well as many other absorbent products. His total understanding and command of the airlaid nonwovens technology, markets, and business is without parallel globally. As a consultant, Expert has conducted projects for the largest companies in the nonwovens bsuiness area, including consumer products companies, nonwovens producers, and raw material suppliers. He frequently reports on many nonwoven topics, and is expert on the development and use of many sustainable technologies in nonwovens, including a long involvement with flushable wipes. His reputation has lead to his participation as an expert witness in large nonwovens related litigation, with hundreds of millions of dollars in potential awards/damages. He has conducted programs from fiber design and production through finished product production. Developed a novel new nonwoven wipe, including designing the product structure, identifying and qualifying potential nonwoven suppliers, designing trials and assisting in trials, developing tst methods, and providing pertinent market data.Optimized performance on an aquisition/distribution layer for a feminine hygiene pad, including product design (density, composition, basis weight) and process optimization (line speed, calendar temperature and pressure, dryer settings, etc.).Developed first low dust themal bonded airlaid product for wet wipes, supervised (hands on) trials, produced trial quantities, took material to wipes converter, ran trials there, and demonstrated low/no dust (in 2005). Assisted multibillion dollar company in assessment of large acqusition (ultimately successfully concluded). Provided all market data for the nonwovens piece of the target company.Consulted on the commercialization of several new fibers for use in nonwovens, including identifying the key target markets, the product specifications, and potential customers. Contacted and set up meetings with key global customers, provided pricing data during negotiations and assited fiber producers in negotiating supply agreements.
