He was involved in several repairs to the pipeline system over which he was supervisor of operations for Amoco Pipeline. This involved choosing materials, methods and selecting qualified contractors to perform the work.
He was in charge of insuring new additions to the offshore pipeline he supervised were made in accordance with established rules and procedures.
After retiring from Amoco Pipeline, he was asked to stay on as a consultant with Amoco Pipeline to assist with the start-up and operation of new offshore pipeline system located in the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Louisiana. This consultant arrangement lasted slightly over eleven years.
