Expert is a Professor Emeritus of Ophthalmology at the Expert's University. He is board certified in ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology with special interests in Diseases of the Retina, Ophthalmic Pathology, Ocular Malignancies and Cancer-Related Survival Analysis.

During his 30-year career, he has performed approximately 15,000 laser treatments of the retina for a wide variety of diseases. He has also performed and analyzed approximately 10,000 retinal angiograms. In addition, he has spent two years as a fellow studying ophthalmic pathology at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in Washington, DC, following which he taught ophthalmic pathology for 30 years in the Department of Ophthalmology, Expert's University. His bio includes ninety-three publications in a variety of scientific journals and his major research interest is cancer-related survival and he has studied cancers involving the eye, the skin, the breast, and the head and neck.

CANCER: Expert is familiar with long-term course of patients with cutaneous melanoma, refined measurement of outcome for adjuvant breast carcinoma therapy, uveal melanomas and the correlation of cytologic features with prognosis, melanocytic lesions of the posterior Uvea and the impact of new pathologic concepts in prognosis and management, adenoid cystic carcinoma of the lacrimal gland, a method for determining the prognosis of uveal melanomas using a computerized assessment and various other cancers of the eye, skin, breast and head/neck.

OCULAR DISEASE: Expert is familiar with metastatic endophthalmitis, correlation of in vitro 32-P counts with histopathologic features of malignant melanomas of choroid and ciliary body, quantitative analysis of Callender's classification of uveal melanoma cells, tumors of the lacrimal gland, acute ischemic optic neuropathy in severe pre-eclampsia, vascular diseases of the retina and choroids, intraocular tumors and simulating lesions, enucleation for uveal melanoma, mucoepidermoid carcinoma of the conjunctiva, blastomycosis of the eyelid and other topics related to ocular or ophthalmology diseases.

TECHNIQUE/ RADIATION AND LASER: He has published articles on corneal burns and cataracts caused by argon laser therapy with the Rodenstock Panfunduscopic Lens, objective assessment of the malignant potential of intraocular melanomas with standard microslides stained with Hematoxylin-eosin, treatment of posterior Uveal Lesions by co-60 plaque radiotherapy versus enucleation, cobalt plaque radiotherapy for malignant melanomas of the choroid and ciliary body and much more.


He consulted on a case of ocular histoplasmosis where the plaintiff claimed negligence (approximately 1985).
