Expert has applied his academic background and deep knowledge of the telecom industry to design systems that support broadband communications. In particular, he was instrumental in the design and implementation of long haul broadband communications networks with transmission speeds of up to 10 Gb/s. These systems were commissioned and are functioning. This was done during Expert's work at Lucent and Verizon. Expert suggested a number of optimizations, which combined technical excellence with cost-effectiveness of broadband communications. He has a patent in the area of broadband communications.

Expert has applied his knowledge of data protocols to evaluate data services for a number of service providers. He is proficient in Ethernet, IP, frame relay and other areas of data transmission and communications, and has written a number of articles on the subject. He also participated in the design of complex data networks, including IP VPN MPLS structures.

Expert designs digital communications network architectures. In particular he has applied his experience to design high-reliability structures with self-healing and mesh topology. These structures use a combination of network elements such as dense wavelength multiplexers, OADMs, and others.

Expert develops Ethernet fiber optics networks and services with transmission speeds of up to 10 Gb/s. He is proficient in Ethernet technology and is working with a number of Ethernet vendors. His interest lies in the area of developing Ethernet into the Carrier-Grade technology.

Expert has been involved in communications supported with fiber optics since the early 1980s, when the first digital fiber optics transmission systems were introduced. He is instrumental in using fiber optics techniques to create high-capacity networks. He also developed a number of industry reports on various subjects in fiber optics communications.

In this area, Expert applied his knowledge of fiber optics principles and terrestrial communications systems design to work on combining RF and fiber optics design. He is experienced in RF-frequency communications as well as in optical frequencies communications. He has provided analysis of electromagnetic interference in relation to terrestrial networks, and has worked with vendors.

Expert applies his experience as a researcher and an electrical engineer to design secure fiber optic communications systems. Using such intrinsic properties of fiber optics as insensitivity to electromagnetic interference, he develops methods of secure transmission of sensitive information.

Expert has conducted in-depth research projects, network design and parameter evaluation, testing, and did technical market reports writing.He developed and published industry reports on small optical switches and planar splitters. Expert developed and issued an RFP for a major terrestrial/undersea network.He conducted extensive testing of DWDM. Expert participated in a fiber optics network characterization process.
