Expert is a graduate mechanical engineer and the founding and managing director of his company established in 1987. He has substantial managerial background in a wide range of industrial and commercial activities. His early employment included: heavy engineering, shipbuilding, artificial fibers, and food processing.

Expert has been involved with management consultancy since the mid 1970’s. His first work in this capacity was in the Middle East, acting as an internal consultant within the Aramco organization in Saudi Arabia. After a two-year period in Saudi Arabia, he returned to the United Kingdom to become a management consultant with PA Management Consultants.

During his twenty-five years of consultancy experience, Expert has been responsible for undertaking and managing over 400 strategic assignments. Several of these have pioneered various consultancy services and are inbuilt to the product range of services provided by his company. He has presented a variety of papers and is a recognized authority and trainer in several fields.

• State national oil company Middle East - E&P Directorate - Restructuring Exploration & Production Directorate responsible for (10,000 + staff) to deliver enhanced performance:

As project director: scoping, team selection and strategic development of project methodology. Overall responsibility, team leading, development of strategy, ensuring delivery through audit of recommendations which were based on a value chain alignment. Presentation of recommended outcome for major performance and change management implementation plan to the CEO and senior executives.
• Restructuring two Exploration & Production Companies (each 2,500 + staff) Middle East.

Project director of two major re-structuring studies reporting at board level – first study generating the second study based on the client’s satisfaction with the outcome of the first study. Recommendations led to the breakthrough introduction and adoption of business performance driven culture based on a balanced score concepts. Extensive follow-on implementation with major performance management (KPI’s, Performance Management Contracts, Service Level Agreements, change management and team building programmes. – this was a radical transition from a highly institutionalised command and control culture to an empowered business unit based architecture.
• Restructuring 4 Service Companies within group – Shipping, Port Operation, Drilling, Warehousing (Middle East) – collective size 4000 staff.

Project director developing the strategy and methodology, selecting and leading the team. Development and presentation of the recommendations to group CEO, General Managers and BOD. Development of an implementation plan outlining an approach to performance and change management associated with the recommendations and the introduction of performance management.
• Power & Water Sector (Middle East). Restructuring study of 10,000 + staff for power generation and distribution company with water desalination and distribution.

Project Director responsible for proposal, methodology development and overall direction of assignment. Analysis of strategic recommendations, development of final report and implementation plan. Impact: multi million $ cost reduction opportunity based on international best practice metrics. Recommendations for a major change management programme to support the restructuring, team building and performance culture proposed.
• Fertilizer Plant – manpower study

Use of benchmarking process to establish that the correct manpower levels and recommend a path for re-alignment with new plant coming on board. Identified savings potential of £30m
