He has had significant experience in, and responsibility for, creating and implementing business strategic plans at the country and regional level. He has had more than 30 years experience working in the healthcare sector, principally in various positions in sales; marketing training; business development and general management in the pharmaceutical industry; and in business development and general management in pharmaceutical market intelligence and medical publishing. Much of this time has been spent living and working in Latin America.

Although he started his career in the UK, he has worked and lived in Latin America for 33 years. He has broad experience throughout the region and has special knowledge regarding Mexico and Brazil, where he has lived on a number of occasions. He is currently a resident of Mexico. He has also had significant experience in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Peru and Central America. Much of this experience has been in marketing pharmaceuticals, pharmaceutical market intelligence services, and medical publishing at the regional director and general management levels.

He has had responsibility for managing joint ventures in Latin America, including agency arrangements in Argentina and Uruguay and a 50/50 joint venture with another pharmaceuticals company in Brazil, covering marketing, production, finance, human resources and profit sharing. He has also had responsibility for managing a joint venture in the medical publishing field and has coordinated co-marketing and co-promotion arrangements in pharmaceuticals, which was the subject of his MBA dissertation. He has extensive experience in marketing pharmaceutical products throughout Latin America, both at the country and regional level. He has organized new product launch symposia, training programs, and coordinated new product launches in Mexico, Brazil and Argentina. He has written numerous marketing plans and has commissioned market research projects in several countries.

He has worked directly in the pharmaceutical industry for 27 years in sales, marketing, training, business development and general management both in the UK and throughout Latin America. He has had responsibility for launching new products in the fields of antivirals, AIDS, epilepsy, antibacterials, hyperuricaemia, anaesthesiology and OTC products. He has also worked indirectly with the pharmaceutical industry in international market intelligence as business development director and as president and CEO of a medical publishing company.

Expert has held the positions of Business Development Director, President, and CEO in service companies to the pharmaceutical, market intelligence, and medical publishing industries. He has had responsibility for developing new products and services in market intelligence, both quantitative and qualitative. He has also been responsible for improving existing products and developing new products in medical publishing (for the medical profession). These products have been primarily sponsored by the pharmaceutical industry.

He has had responsibility for strategic planning and new product and business development for Latin America in pharmaceuticals, market intelligence and medical publishing. He has had experience at writing, presenting, and implementing strategic plans at both the country and regional level.
