Request Expert

Expert comes across with over 30 years of rich experience across the paper, chemicals and power industry. He has been the managing director / profit center head throughout this period and has reported to the Board of Directors being independently responsible for the day to day management of the business. His roles and responsibilities included representing the company at the central and state government levels. Expert started his career in 1979 wherein on completing his education he took over the project conceptualization and implementation of 33,000 TPA Sulphuric Acid Plant and a 66,000 TPA Single Super Phosphate Fertilizer plant. He had complete overall responsibility of the project from end to end. Expert handled every aspect including liasoning for licensing with secretaries of Government of India in a controlled industry. He also identified and selected land for the project and liasoned with the state government for acquisition of land. His responsibilities also included all pre project activities such as environmental clearances, technology selection and tie ups as well as financial closure for the project. In the process he also appointed and lead teams of technology consultants, contractors, business consultants and the entire management team for the business. The project was completed under his leadership well ahead of schedule and also well within the estimated costs. The first unit was commissioned in 10 months and the second unit was commissioned in 14 months while the schedule was for 20 months. Expert further expanded the project by setting up a specialty paper plant as an extension of the existing fertilizer project. The move into the specialty paper mill was resultant of an innovation by him, wherein the unique
concept of using the steam released by the Sulphuric acid plant for process use in the manufacture of specialty paper was introduced. This was the first time that the high pressure steam from a fertilizer unit was being used as an input into another manufacturing process. This unique concept later became an industry wide practice and the norm with all fertilizer units in India. Thus 10,000 TPA specialty paper mill was set up at Shree Acids and Chemicals in Gajrula, UP. The paper mills were based on recycled waste paper (non conventional raw material) .
Expert with his vision and leadership skills led Shree Acids and Chemicals Limited to win many laurels, the company under his leadership was awarded the environment protection award for a number of years and also received several other laurels such as ‘best performing unit’, ‘technological innovation award’ etc. Expert was a representative and spokesperson of both the fertilizer and paper industries. He was a member of various committees in the Fertilizer Association of India (FAI) and was also elected the president of the
All India Small Paper Mills Association (AISPMA). He represented the paper industry to the central government. In 2005, Expert joined the Shriram Group of Companies from Chennai to head their new fertilizer initiative based on coal gasification technology to be brought into India. He was further given additional responsibility of leading the group’s entry into the thermal power sector. Expert was asked to head the project conceptualization and planning for 2 x 1000 MW thermal power plants in MP and Jharkhand.He worked extensively on coal block allocation and selection for the project. Expert is currently also working as an external consultant on project implementation with a specific focus on the Power Sector.
