Expert is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in both Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She trained at the University of California, San Francisco, where she was also an Assistant Clinical Professor. She is bilingual in Spanish. She has forensic experience including work within both the adult and juvenile justice systems and projects with the federal Department of Justice. She has also done immigration work and testamentary work as well as capacity for informed consent declarations.

As a past child psychiatrist at a major teaching hospital in California, she supervised psychiatric and pediatric residents, psychology pre-and post-doctoral interns, medical students, and volunteers. She directed a behavioral assessment clinic, addressing ADHA, PTSD, and other childhood psychiatric disorders. She also provided psychotherapy and psychopharmacology services for children. As a staff member, she was responsible for developing children’s psychiatric service and for providing medication management for patients and supervision of therapists.

Expert has an extensive private practice with experience in high-risk pregnancies, somatoform disorders, as well as typical anxiety and depressive disorders. As a psychiatrist at her private practice, she treats patients with Anxiety disorders, Depression, Insomnia, ADHD, and several different Women's Issues. She sees children and adolescents with a range of developmental and family issues. Her private practice offers services in Therapy, Psychotherapy, Counseling, Psychopharmacology, Medication Management, Child Custody Evaluations, Competency Evaluations, and Psychiatry Evaluations for Immigration. She also continues to do studies evaluating homo- versus hetero- sexual brain chemistry.

Because of her extensive expertise in psychiatry, Expert has been called upon by the media to discuss difficult psychological phenomena as well as to discuss several investigations regarding child and adolescent abuse and psychotherapy and adult psychiatry in crime.
