Expert is a pulmonary specialist with board certifications in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Diseases in both the United States and Canada. He currently serves as Associate Professor of Medicine at the UCLA School of Medicine and Associate Attending Physician at Cedars Sinai Medical Center where he is involved in teaching fellows, residents, interns and medical students. A Fellow of the Royal College of Chest Physicians and member of the American Thoracic Society, Expert has been actively engaged in the clinical practice of internal medicine and cardiorespiratory diseases and directly involved in providing treatment, management and disability evaluations of individuals with various respiratory disorders for over 25 years. He also serves as consulting pulmonary specialist at UCLA and UC Northridge Student Health. He also has been actively involved in the evaluation and medical assessment of individuals with a wide variety of work-related lung disorders and toxic exposures and has performed thousands of such med-legal evaluations.

Expert has authored several books, articles and manuals on asthma, asbestos, pneumoconioses, respiratory care, lung diseases and work, lung function testings, management of respiratory disorders and others. He is a graduate of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and did his training in internal medicine at Boston City Hospital. He then spent three years doing a fellowship at McGill University where he specialized in respiratory diseases. He is a Qualified Medical Evaluator for the Workers Compensation Board, State of California.

Expert has been recruited by State of California, City of Los Angeles, Boeing, Hughes Aircraft, McDonald Douglas, Johns Mansville, enumerable large companies, attornies, insurance companies, etc to provide medical expertise regarding cases of alleged toxic inhalation and concerns about illness caused by toxic exposure at work.Expert has consulted and and provided expert medical testimony on thousands of cases of alleged asbestos related health problems, occupational asthma and other pneumonconioses.Expert has provided disability evaluations of thousands of workers where levels of impairment are at issue.Expert has been asked on many occasions to review medical records and offer an opinion as to whether he agrees with the initial determination as the the nature and cause of various medical illnesses and whether they were caused by harmful exposure.Expert has often been asked to review death cases and provide either an initial or second opinion as to the cause of death and whether it was attributable to work.

Over the past 25 years Expert provided med-legal evaluations and consultative advice for lawyers, insurance companies, State Disability Boards, Worker Compensation Board, Major Companies in cases of suspected lung injuries due to exposure at work and product liability (eg. asbestos, silica, occupational asthma, mesothelioma, pneumoconioses, occupational cancer, etc).
