Her two-day conference drew nationwide recognition for New Mexico's rich legacy from the Industrial Age. It established working relationships between preservationists, developers, industry professionals and community leaders to turn plans into reality.

As owner of Cultural Asset Development, Expert does independent site research, assessment, evaluation and strategic planning. She targets funding sources and potential partners for community-based developments. Responsibilities:
After serving as the assistant for the Brookline Rent Review Board, she left the East Coast and arrived in New Mexico in 1970. My first husband and I had a crafts shop in Santa Fe, and homesteaded a remote piece of land near the Pecos Wilderness.

She attended the Gemological Institute of America and became a Certified Gemologist, importing diamond melee from Sri Lanka. Later she used part of the inventory to buy apartment units in Albuquerque. She operated and maintained over 30 units for 10 years until she sold them, and began a journey that took her into the new world of old buildings where she now focuses her work.
