Expert is a scientist who analyzes speech and language, especially with regard to their forensic implications. He has been employed by Los Alamos National Laboratory, the Aerospace Corporation and the University of California Phonetics Laboratory. He has served as an expert witness in the United States, Canada and Australia. He has completed projects for the Central Intelligence Agency, the National Security Agency and the United States Secret Service. He has held security clearances at Secret, Top Secret and Q levels. He will consider challenging assignments.

Expert's expertise includes analysis of recordings, enhancing the intelligibility of recordings, determining whether recordings have been altered, speaker identification, memory for voices, voice lineups, using voice to determine speaker veracity and voice morphing. He has done a special study of the communications of Flight 1549 that landed in the Hudson River.

Acoustical Society of America: Expert led the Los Alamos National Laboratory research team that developed the “Animated Display of Inferred Tongue, Lip and Jaw Movement,” which was selected as an R&D-100 winner, which is accorded to the 100 most significant technical developments in a year, and was also selected as a National Merit Award winner by the Johns Hopkins National Search for Computing to Aid Persons with Disabilities. This technology uses acoustic analysis to infer a person’s articulatory positions when she or he talks into a microphone attached to a specially equipped personal computer.
