Thales Aerospace January 2008 - April 2008 (London) Design Authority

Design Authority, working for Thales aerospace, Developed strategy for new air born gsm system for passengers. This included sourcing vendors (who were certified) arranging air born tests, acceptance & sla. Also high level design for a Wimax meshed air to air system for sharing satellite bandwidth. Liaising with military vendors & assessing financial, technical capabilities. Expert was the product manager for air FMC.

Kaiser Permanente head hunted me from the UK. Expert was responsible for the North America ATM network infrastructure for the foundations, extremely large and mainly "Nortel Passport" networks, again focused on voice, data and wireless.

Expert Programme managed the migration of the network, from a microwave network to an ATM network, with over
1028 Nodes. Expert was responsible for all vendor logistics for the ATM network.
Whilst at Kaiser, Expert reduced yearly budget for personnel by RETAINING STAFF!!! Corp headquarters wanted to lay off staff and has all in a 2 hubs in California, Expert reviewed these costs and kept the staff (Even if facility closed in some cases) as their integral knowledge of the company was invaluable, Expert suggested and the company accepted a "Silo" working methodology where most Engineers worked by Telecommuting, using video conferencing and remote worker techniques.
Expert managed approx. 207 IT managers across various facilities, from Hawaii to Texas. As their senior manager Expert regularly flew to various facilities, to resolve and motivate those manager's staff, financial & technical issues. Expert had an "Open Budget" at Kaiser, as it was a foundation & not a company.
