He has extensive experience with the removal of binder systems from ceramic systems during post-processing, including safety, code compliance and practical aspects. Binders worked with range from "classic" organic binders to "catalytic" binders (e.g. BASF Catamold).

He designed, sold, engineered and commissioned ceramic drying systems for a variety of products using waste heat, infrared, convection, infrared and RF technologies.

He has designed, commissioned and troubleshot automated spray, dip and waterfall glazing solutions for ceramic manufacturers.

He has designed, specified and selected ceramic kiln furniture made from high alumina, mullite, various silicon carbides and other materials. He can speak extensively about the pros and cons of the different material grades and their manufacturers.

He also was involved in patent infringement claims on nitride-bonded silicon carbide.

Expert has spent his entire professional career working with kilns. Working for four leading kiln manufacturers, he has designed, engineered, sold and commissioned all styles of kilns: Roller hearth, pusher plate, tunnel, shuttle, elevator, laboratory, kilns heated both with electricity and fuels.

He has spent time evaluating microwave processing compared to conventional heating methods, and has found that in most cases, it is not economical.

Expert has worked for his entire professional career in the heat treatment equipment industry which has brought him practical experience with a variety of heat resistant materials, including ceramics, metals and specialty materials (e.g. bearings). As a consultant he has worked with a variety of manufacturers to help them find cost-effective solutions to their heat-resistant materials problems.

Expert has worked his entire professional career with furnace manufacturers, working with customers to develop processes for sintering ceramics and metals using a variety of heating technologies and systems. As a ceramic engineer, Expert has studied the fundamentals of sintering, and this coupled with his practical knowledge brings a unique insight to the customers he has helped.

Expert, a Ceramic Engineer, has worked with clients to specify ceramic materials for cost-effective and reliable solutions to their processing problems. Spending his entire career in the heat treatment industry, Expert brings special knowledge in selecting heat-resistant materials. He also has personal relationships with many manufacturers of ceramic materials, knowing their properties and capabilities.

Expert, a Ceramic Engineer, has worked on firing systems his entire career. The relationship between defect-free-forming and defect-free firing results has given him unique insights into the successful forming of ceramic materials.

He has worked with all types of ceramic materials, including tape cast, pressed, thick film, machined components, jiggered, cast, and even hand-made artware.

He has also worked designing fully automated systems that begin by extracting parts from the forming operation and transporting them through firing and beyond.

Expert through his career designing heat treatment systems, has specified a large number of short-run specialty ceramic items for use in these systems. As a result, he has developed an extensive network of suppliers who can efficiently manufacture unique ceramic components in lots as small as one. He has also helped clients specify components that need to be produced in small lots at first, and economically ramped to large quantities after the concept is proven.

Expert has worked extensively solving heat treatment and other processing problems for manufacturers of techinical ceramics, including electrical, electrochemical, structural and functional materials.

He worked with a pre-IPO fuel cell manufacturer to refine and develop new thermal processes for the manufacture and testing of their components.He worked with an early-stage manufacturer of electronic materials to help select materials and equipment for the high-temperature processing of an aggressive and toxic product.He helped several manufacturers identify alternate sources for temperature-resistant components improving process reliability and reducing purchase cost for the manufacturers.
