TITANIUM; TITANIUM ALLOY; TITANIUM ALLOY PROPERTY. Expert's (pronounced Eye-lon) principal expertise is the properties and processing characteristics of titanium and titanium alloys. His experience is in the areas of correlation of microstructure and processing parameters to the mechanical properties of titanium alloys; development of coatings for high temperature performance of titanium alloys; and high energy low temperature consolidation methods.

Expert's research work included material processing and mechanical properties, evaluation and research coordination with other US and European organizations. His work experience has involved contacts and visits to organizations and laboratories in the USA, UK, France, West Germany, Italy, Australia, and Japan.

TITANIUM TECHNOLOGY; TITANIUM POWDER. As co-editor and co-contributor of a number of books dealing with the subject, Expert is an authority on the latest developments and future trends of titanium technology. Technologies he has researched include titanium powder metallurgy and mechanical properties of advanced titanium powder metallurgy compacts.

FAILURE ANALYSIS; FATIGUE FAILURE; TITANIUM INVESTMENT CASTING. Expert has performed fatigue failure analyses of titanium, aluminum, and superalloys. He has knowledge of fatigue and fracture toughness and the high-temperature properties and processing of titanium alloys, titanium aluminides, and failure mechanisms in beta-forged titanium alloys, castings, and powder metallurgy.

CREEP. Expert has studied creep properties and behaviors in a wide range of materials. In his dissertation, he explored the effects of rapid thermal cycling on the creep properties of pure iron. He conducted creep tests of alpha iron during thermal cycling. He evaluated the effects of the environment and coating on the creep behavior of commercial titanium alloys, as well as longitudinal creep behavior and damage in metal matrix composites.

METAL MATRIX COMPOSITE. Expert is knowledgeable of the fabrication of particulate reinforced composites. He is also familiar with high-temperature behavior of titanium matrix composites and has conducted microstructure mechanical property studies of metal matrix composites.
