Dr. Sears has been in the transportation industry for more than 25 years. She entered the industry after an honorable discharge from the US Navy. She has 11 years of experience as an over-the-road driver and driver trainer. While driving with a less-than-truckload (LTL) company, Dr. Sears was able to pursue her degrees during the day while working at night. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Legal Studies from Peirce College, graduating cum laude. Additionally, she has a Master of Science with a major in Business Management and a minor in HR Management, graduating magna cum laude at Nova Southeastern University. She ultimately completed her educational goals by obtaining a Doctor of Education degree with a major in Organizational Leadership, graduating magna cum laude. Her career covers employment as a transportation specialist at the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) headquarters where she served on the steering committee of the CSA program. She also served as a safety and training manager at one of the five largest trucking companies in North America overseeing training and safety for more than 3000 drivers, driver trainers, and student drivers. She also served as a director of training at a Florida trucking company, where she was nominated “Safety Professional of the Year”.
