Expert has more than 25 years' experience advising companies on labor law in the UK and internationally. During that time he has advised large international organisations in difficult situations -- for instance, Swiss International Air Lines following the collapse of Swissair and DEC during its downsizing. He has particular experience in large-scale employment restructuring but is also accustomed to advising and litigating on particular labor law issues, such as employment discrimination and whistle-blowing.

Expert practices as a lawyer in the City of London. His law firm has an international reputation, and he has extensive experience leading multi-jurisdictional projects with other firms across the globe.

Coordinated and managed all HR and employment law matters in 63 countries outside Switzerland for Swiss International Air Lines during its transition to becoming the Swiss national airline following Swissair's collapse.Advised Reuters on all labor law issues arising on the relocation of its administrative hubs in 18 countries to 5 global service centres and, for a time, managed the project's HR workstream.Advised a global bank on employment law issues worldwide when it exited the market for travellers' checks.Advised Digital Equipment Co (DEC) on labor law issues worldwide when it carried out the largest (at least till then) reduction in force in history.Litigated several test cases which have changed labor law in the UK -- including one to the European Court of Justice (Allonby v Accrington and Rossendale College) --often against union opposition.
