Expert’s specialty is in the analytical chemistry of natural and anthropogenic compounds. She has used modern chromatography and spectroscopy instrumentation for analysis of organic and inorganic compounds in air, water and soil. She has published several articles on the use of HPLC, SFC, Capillary GC and AA for analysis of volatile and non-volatile compounds

Expert has developed and taught undergraduate and graduate environmental science courses. She had been a member of the Environmental Science Curriculum Committee at the University of North Texas.

Expert's Ph.D. dissertation focused on selected organic pesticide occurrence and transformation in water and wastewater. Studied pesticide included chlorinated hydrocarbon pesticides, organophosphates and chlorinated herbicides. Throughout her career she had investigated the fate and transport of these pesticides in air, water and soil environments.

During her professional career Expert has taught several analytical chemistry courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels. She also implemented several analytical testing programs for research projects funded by EPA, API, CMA and others.

During her professional career Expert has taught several analytical chemistry courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Atomic absorption and emission spectroscopy were major chapters in her courses. Her courses included laboratory training of students on the proper use of these instruments for trace analysis. Expert analytical research laboratory was equipped with advanced AA and AE instruments.
