He has worked across both Angel and VC investor networks in the US and UK, introducing investment into several companies.
Expert has worked in the wireless - cellular, mobile phone - industry for over 30 years being instrumental in the early days of bringing 2G GSM networks into the UK, 3G technology into Europe, and currently is focused on 5G rollout where he is a key leader in the spectrum and Mobile Operator engagement.
As well as working with 4G and 5G manufacturers he has also worked for infrastructure companies building the underlying radio infrastructure used by today's leading mobile operators, eg towers, fibre and small cells.
Expert has long experience in broadband networks, spectrum, and investing in network operators. In the last 7 years he has:
- advised clients on the spectrum, spectrum valuation, and auctions
- won spectrum at auction and sold it on
- transacted tower portfolios
- deployed wireless networks including Fixed Wireless Access, Broadband Wireless Access, Municipal Wireless networks, WiFi networks, and also the UK's first 4G pilot network.
He was Deputy Chairman of the Mobile WiMAX Acceleration Group and led the UK's first Mobile WiMAX trials with Maidstone Borough Council {30 miles south of London) and 11 industry partners. Trial organizations included BBC TV News, ITN News, Kent County Fire Service, etc.
Currently as Chair of (undisclosed) and Use at the Policy Forum, he drives industry views into regulators, government, and the EC (European Commission).
