Expert served as Deputy Director of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Workers' Compensation Health Initiative. He also co-directed the doctoral and postdoctoral degree programs in Occupational Health Services Research at the Harvard University School of Public Health.

Expert is the author of a full-length text that has been published by Yale University Press and another published by OEP Press. He specializes in issues concerning workers' compensation and work disability prevention and treatment.

Expert Professor of Public Health in the Division of Health Services Management and Policy at Employer College of Public Health. He has served at Chair of the Division and Director of Ohio State University's Center for Health Outcomes, Policy and Evaluation Studies (Center for HOPES). He also was Director of Evaluation for the OSU Center for Clinical and Translational Research at Ohio State.

Expert was formerly a professor and senior research scientist at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He has also held faculty appointments at Harvard University, McGill University, the University of Massachusetts Lowell, and Northeastern University.

Expert specializes in occupational safety and health, occupational health policy, industrial accident prevention, and workplace ergonomics.

Expert specializes in research concerning the advantages and drawbacks of shiftwork and long working hours. He has received widespread national and international attention for his studies concerning the health effects of working in a compressed work schedule (for example, four days of at least 10 hours per day).

Health effects of chronic diseases over extended years of work have received widespread attention among scientists and policymakers. Expert's recent studies concerning disease risks among working women are particular noteworthy.

Expert has been conducted high-quality healthcare research for the past 25 years. He specializes in health services research, chronic care research, occupational research, and, increasingly, mental care research. His efforts are often performed in conjunction with his existing analytical team of statisticians, research assistants, epidemiologists, and data managers.

Expert has undertaken nearly 20 consulting engagements to date in subject matter areas surrounding workers' compensation.

Expert has provided expert witness testimony and has been retained by attorneys from the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) to prepare a report summarizing measures taken by the Ohio Health Plans (OHP), which is part of ODJFS and home of the Ohio Medicaid program, to inform eligible consumers in Ohio about the services available through its Early Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment (EPSDT) Program.
